COVID-19 Update: Access to Vaccines

Dear members of the Emerson community:

We have wonderful news for the community. Tufts Medical Center will have vaccine doses available to members of the Emerson community as soon as today, Thursday, April 29.

As has been the case with many developments related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the rollout of vaccines and information related to availability has been difficult to predict. We wanted to share this news as soon as we received it so that members of the Emerson community could take advantage of the opportunity.

Any member of the community over the age of 16 can book themselves an appointment at https://www.tuftsmcvaccine.org/.  All vaccine appointments are being administered at the Courtyard by Marriott Boston Downtown, 279 Tremont Street, Boston.  If you are having trouble booking an appointment via the website, you can call the vaccine booking center directly at 617-636-6119 for assistance.

In addition, Tufts Medical Center will be offering “walk-in” hours for vaccination to the community on Monday, May 3, from 2:00-4:30 pm, and Tuesday, May 4, from 2:00-4:30 pm, for those who do not have a scheduled appointment but would like to walk in to the clinic for a vaccination.

Even for those leaving the state as the school year winds down, if you wish to receive the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, we would still encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and receive the first shot of the vaccine at Tufts.  If you will still be in the Boston area, you will have your second shot automatically scheduled for you at Tufts.  If you will be leaving the area over the next few weeks and remaining in the U.S., you should be able to schedule the second in your location at the designated time of 3 or 4 weeks, as applicable.  Tufts will provide you with the needed vaccine documentation to take with you.

Thank you and be well,
