COVID-19 Update: Policy Adjustments

Dear students;

I am writing to provide you an update on some small adjustments we have been making to some campus experiences as we continue to review COVID policies and guidelines. As you may have heard, our case numbers remain low, with a rate of 0.20 percent and less than 10 active cases as of this communication. Due to this, we are able to make these positive adjustments. Please read below for additional information.

There have been some meeting spaces and reservable spaces across campus where we have slightly increased the space capacity to allow for more people to meet together, all while still adhering to masking and distancing practices. These changes are reflected when you reserve a space via SpaceBook

We would also encourage you to take advantage of being outdoors as the weather improves. Groups of up to 25 may gather outside as long as they are wearing face coverings and maintaining social distance.

Additionally, beginning next week, you will see more small group seating options in our dining areas (up to four at some tables).  It is still encouraged that you keep your face coverings in place unless you are actively eating or drinking and that you limit the amount of time seated in a group.

As a reminder, should you become vaccinated, please make sure you keep a record of your vaccine and then log into your Student Health Portal to enter the dates of your vaccines and upload your records. Center for Health and Wellness staff will verify your documentation. All existing policies for testing, masking, distancing and quarantine will remain unchanged for the rest of the spring term, regardless of vaccination status.

Thank you for your continued adherence to our COVID guidelines and for your part in keeping the Emerson and greater Boston community safe.

Thank you and be well,
Erik Muurisepp
