Alumnus Gerald Blume Was Voice of Judge Judy

Gerald Blume ’58, who, working as Jerry Bishop, was the announcer of Judge Judy for nearly 25 years, died last month in Los Angeles, the Hollywood Reporter reports. He was 84.

After earning a bachelor of science in speech degree from Emerson, Blume went on to establish himself as a morning drive DJ in Los Angeles. He did voiceover work for brands such as Budweiser and Burger King, and was the voice of The Disney Channel, according to the Hollywood Reporter. He had worked for Judge Judy since it came on the air in 1996.
