Emersonian’s Family Creates Own Spirit Week at Home

Being stuck at home is frustrating. We’re missing out on a lot. But first-year student Emma Morrison’s family is making the best of the situation by holding their own spirit week.

“My family actually did themes every day of the week last week! On Monday we had Emerson Day, Tuesday was twin day, Wednesday was first jobs, Thursday was holidays, and Friday was Disney day!” said Morrison.

For the record, Morrison’s first job was at the YMCA as a childcare assistant, her mom, Amy, was a housekeeper, her dad, Scott, was a chef, and Grandma Lucy was a waitress. Now Emma’s working from home at the same time as her parents, with her dad in the basement, her mom in the dining room, and she’s in her bedroom.

A Theatre and Production major, Morrison said her family has been very supportive of her using extra space for her classes, or if she’s “going to be making a lot of noise.” Morrison said she’s happy to see her classmates on Zoom.
