Women’s Volleyball Making First Trip to NEWMAC Championship After Win over Wellesley

The Emerson women’s volleyball team beat Wellesley, 3-2, to advance to the NEWMAC Championship game.

The Emerson women’s volleyball will take part in the NEWMAC Championship for the first time in program history when they travel to Babson College to take on the No. 1 seeded Beavers on Saturday, November 9, at 2:00 pm.

The Lions staved off match point in the fourth set Thursday, November 7, to defeat the No. 2 seed Wellesley Blue 3-2 in five sets in the NEWMAC Semifinals. Logan Steenbergen ’23 led the Lions with 13 kills and six blocks.

In the semifinal victory, Grace Tepper ’21 earned the 1,000th kill of her career. She finished with 19 kills and currently sits at 1,015 for her career at Emerson.

Albany Alexander ’21 ended the game with 14 kills and three blocks; Steenbergen left 13 kills and five blocks; and Caroline Bond ’23 had 52 assists, 20 digs, and six blocks.
