Emerson Volleyball Players Get Back-to-Back NEWMAC Honors

Carolyn Vaimoso ’22 (#14, left) and Caroline Bond ’23 (#20, right) were named NEWMAC Players of the Week for Sept. 30-Oct. 6 and Sept. 23-29, respectively.

For the second straight week, an Emerson Lion earned a NEWMAC Player Of The Week for women’s volleyball. 

Carolyn Vaimoso ’22 earned Defensive Player of the Week (September 30-October 6), helping the Lions to three wins last week.  She totaled 22 digs over two matches to help Emerson earn two conference wins and sweeps.

Against Clark, Vaimoso has 13 digs, good for 4.33 per set. Against the WPI Engineers, she tallied nine digs.  

Caroline Bond ’23 helped the Lions to three wins the previous week, including a NEWMAC victory over No. 17 Babson on September 24. Against the Beavers, Bond had 45 assists, 12 digs, and five kills in the four-set victory.

The Lions took two more matches on the week, defeating Emmanuel and Mount Holyoke in sweeps.

Against Emmanuel, Bond continued her strong passing with 40 assists, while adding three digs and four kills. She added 27 assists against the Mount Holyoke Lyons on Saturday, with five kills.

Bond averaged 11.20 assists per set overall, totaled 112, with 14 Kills, 16 Digs, and three blocks.
