Maureen Hurley on Emerson’s Parent and Family Facebook Groups to New York Times
Director of Parent and Family Programs Maureen Hurley contributed to a New York Times piece regarding the popularity of Parent Facebook groups, as the number of people joining these groups are rising. Emerson’s parent and family page ranked the highest for a survey asking where they receive the majority of their information. Hurley set up a Parents and Families of Newly Accepted Students group two years ago, and the College also has an additional general parent and family page.
It was an experiment to see if we were able to help families communicate with the school in an easier way than their picking up the phone or writing an email with basic questions like ‘What size bedsheets do we need?
