Town Hall to Foster Student/Faculty Dialogue

Dear Emerson Students and Faculty,

Please mark your calendars for the first Faculty and Student Town Hall next week on Tuesday, November 27, from 2:00-4:00 pm, in the Bordy Theater! This event was specifically created to improve faculty and student relationships and dynamics, a place where we can all learn more about each other’s experiences through dialogue and open communication.

We envision this time as an opportunity for students and faculty to ask each other questions, so we can all leave the event with a better understanding of each other, and who knows, maybe each other’s emails! We want all participants to speak about initiatives within our departments in a constructive way so that we can work together more efficiently and demonstrate how beneficial working together is.

To prepare for this event, the Student Government Association has created interactive boards, with departmental-specific conversation topics, and posted them throughout the school. Students can place stickers next to ideas they care about, and note if some of any concerns remain unaddressed. These boards will be present at our Town Hall allowing for continued conversation.

There will be more information coming next week, but I really wanted to reach out in advance to extend this invitation! Please feel free to contact SGA_VicePresident@emerson.edu with any questions.

Thank you all so much,

Raz Moayed
Executive Vice President, SGA

Tim Riley
Faculty Assembly Chair
Associate Professor, Journalism
