Cutler Majestic Open for Reflection from 2-4 pm
Dear Emerson community,
Our country has again experienced the tragedy of a mass shooting. Last night the lives of 12 people, including one law enforcement officer, were lost at a country music bar in Thousand Oaks, California. The tragedy occurred during a “college night” event at the establishment.
Events like this seem to have now become a part of our daily lives, but we should not become numb to them. I have faith that in communities like ours, where learning and teaching are paramount, we can influence change on a national level and help others understand the elements that contribute to this violence.
Today from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., the College will open the Cutler Majestic Theatre for personal contemplation and reflection. Should you need additional support, please contact Emerson Counseling and Psychological Services.
Sincerely,
Lee Pelton
