Reminder About Voter Registration
Just a reminder that today is the last day to register to vote in Massachusetts.
For more information, we encourage you to visit the Secretary of the Commonwealth page. There, you can register online, check your voter registration information, voter location, or how to request an absentee ballot.
Deadlines for registration in other parts of the country are fast approaching as well. In fact, for many of our students from California, that deadline is next Monday, October 22. You can learn more about voter registration in California by visiting the Secretary of State Voter Registration page. You can also register online there, as well as learn how to request an absentee ballot.
No matter where you’re from, don’t forget you can get information on how to register and vote in all areas of the U.S. through TurboVote, a non partisan organization working to increase voter awareness.
We also would encourage you to request your absentee ballots today! There are many websites that will help connect you with an absentee ballot including Vote.org.
If you are eligible to vote in the United States, I hope you will consider registering to vote and voting on Election Day. During the 2014 midterm elections, 60 percent of eligible Emerson students were registered to vote, but only 11 percent actually did vote.
You can get additional information about voter registration from the Student Engagement and Leadership Team, in Walker 411, or email seal@emerson.edu.
Thanks,
