Boston Common Art Installation Project – Student Volunteer Opportunities Available
The Boston Parks and Recreation Department seeks student volunteers for an art installation project on the Boston Common.
Lest We Forget is a public art project by Luigi Toscano that displays portraits of Holocaust survivors, victims, and perpetrators. Mr. Toscano’s project has been displayed at the United Nations and the National Mall in Washington.
Mr. Toscano is looking for 2-3 students to volunteer on Sunday, October 14th from 9:00 am-12:30 pm and 2-3 students from 12:30 pm- 4:00 pm. They are requesting students to unload the portraits and set them up along the pathways in the Common. This work includes moving large tightly rolled formatted photographs and placing them on wooden frames. They will then secure the wooden frames with concrete blocks.
Please see this video describing Mr. Toscano’s work. Students should directly email elizabeth_holland@emerson.edu if they are interested in participating no later than Wednesday, October 10th.
