Emerson Alumni to Reconnect and Celebrate
Hundreds of Emerson College alumni will return to Boston this weekend to catch up with classmates and find out what their alma mater’s been up to at Alumni Weekend 2016.
This year’s reunion, being held Friday, June 3 to Sunday, June 5, will have special celebrations for alumni who graduated in years ending in 1 or 6, former RAs, the 70th anniversary of Alpha Pi Theta, and the 25th anniversary of EAGLE.
Here is a complete schedule of Alumni Weekend events.
Highlights of the reunion include:
Friday, June 3
President’s Purple and Gold Toast, 5:00-7:00 pm, in the Jackie Liebergott Black Box Theatre, Paramount Center, 559 Washington Street
Toast Alumni Weekend with President Lee Pelton. Meet up with friends and long-lost classmates and raise a glass of champagne to Emerson. Light appetizers will be served.
Alumni Weekend Boat Bash, 7:00-9:00 pm, from 60 Rowes Wharf
Dance the night away as you cruise around Boston Harbor. Enjoy great music, stunning views and good company. Three drink tickets for beer or wine are included with registration; this is a 21 and older event. Hosted by the Boston Alumni Chapter.
Saturday, June 4

All-Class Alumni Lunch, 12:00-2:00 pm, in the Bobbi Brown and Steven Plofker Gym, Piano Row, 150 Boylston Street
Celebrate and mingle with your classmates during this family-friendly lunch for all classes.
50th Reunion Lunch, 12:00-2:00 pm, in the Semel Theater, 10 Boylston Place
Honor your golden (and purple!) milestone in this special lunch just for the Class of 1966.
EAGLE Reception, 2:00-4:00 pm
The beginning of Boston Pride Week (June 3-12) provides the perfect backdrop for this special party celebrating the enduring legacy and power of Emerson’s Alliance for Gays, Lesbians, and Everyone. Join EAGLE to celebrate how we got here and what today’s EAGLE students are doing to take us into tomorrow.
Alpha Pi Theta 70th Anniversary Ceremony, 3:00-6:00 pm, in the Bordy Theater, 216 Tremont Street
Theta Brothers will begin with an hour mingling featuring an ongoing slideshow of photos from across the decades. The formal ceremony begins at 4:30 pm, and will feature distinguished Alumni Brother speakers, a memorial tribute, and more.
Eighth Annual WERS Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, 3:00-4:30 pm, in the Semel Theater, 10 Boylston Place
Join alumni and current WERS students and staff to get in tune with the station and honor the stellar group of alumni being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Saturday Night Performances, Awards and Party, 6:30 pm, at the Paramount Mainstage, Paramount Center, 559 Washington Street
Enjoy spectacular Emerson talent with performances by students, alumni, and faculty. The evening also will include this year’s Alumni Award ceremony, the honoring of Associate Professor of Journalism Marsha Della-Giustina, dancing, drinks, and more.
Sunday, June 5
Emeriti, Faculty, and Alumni Brunch, 10:00 am, in the Dining Hall, 80 Boylston Street.
Reconnect with your favorite professors and honor retiring faculty during this delicious breakfast buffet. Tickets: $15.
