Women’s Soccer Team Awarded for GPA

The 2014-15 Emerson Women's Soccer team was awarded by a national coaches' association for its high GPA.

The Emerson College 2014-2015 Women’s Soccer Program had the 4th highest GPA of any Division III women’s soccer team.

The Lions, who collectively earned a 3.64 GPA during the 2014-15 academic year, were recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for earning above a 3.0 GPA, putting them in the top 2.38% of all NCAA teams winning the award.

Among Division I, II and III teams, Emerson is ranked 14 th in the nation, and among Division III schools alone, Emerson is ranked 4 th by a margin of .04.

The women’s soccer team has won this award every year since 2007.

“I feel fortunate to work with such as diverse group of talented female athletes,” Coach David Suvak said. “Each individual brings a unique strength to the team and their spirit, technical ability and intelligence lends ot a competitive playing environment.”

In addition to excellence in the classroom, the 2015-16 Women’s Soccer team won the Charles River Cup and an ECAC Championship this year – a first in school history.
