An audience of more than 100 Emersonians greeted Charles Steinberg, Boston Red Sox executive vice president, senior advisor to the Red Sox President/CEO, and Pawtucket Red Sox president, who came to Emerson College on November 16 to speak about his illustrious career in baseball, from his initial days as an intern with the Baltimore Orioles to his current position with the Red Sox and assisting former Commissioner Bud Selig on his baseball memoir.

Steinberg is a 40-year veteran of Major League Baseball, and has worked for Larry Lucchino (former president and CEO of the Red Sox), the Baltimore Orioles, the San Diego Padres, and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

“Careers in Sports Communication: An Insider's View” took place in the Bordy Auditorium and was sponsored by the Department of Communication Studies as the inaugural lecture in the “Sports Communication Lecture Series.”
