With a degree in Stage and Production Management from Emerson, Kevin Dwyer ’13, is following his love for the arts on a Broadway national tour. Dwyer is currently working as an Assistant Stage Manger on The Book of Mormon during its current national tour.
The Book of Mormon, which is a religious parody, was written by Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators of South Park. The musical tells the tale of two Mormon missionaries who are sent to a village in Uganda, where a warlord is threatening the people living there. The two boys then try to share scriptures from the book of Mormon with the natives, but have a hard time connecting with them as they are worried about far more serious things; such as AIDS and war.
The musical will be playing at the Citi Emerson Colonial Theatre until October 11.
Dwyer speaks about his role in this video interview with Emerson College Today student reporter Ciara Speller, MA ’18.
