JUST ANNOUNCED: Tickets for Emerson students are half-price if obtained before 6:00 pm on Friday, March 27, with the presentation of a College ID card at the Cutler Majestic Theatre Box Office.

Emerson College radio station WERS 88.9 FM celebrates its 10th annual All A Cappella Live event on Saturday, March 28, when the top collegiate a cappella groups compete for the title of Best in Boston Collegiate A Cappella.

This year, talented vocal groups from Boston University (BU), Northeastern University (NU), and University of Massachusetts Amherst will compete: the BU Allegrettos, BU Dear Abbeys, NU’s Treble on Huntington, UMass Amherst Dynamics, and UMass Amherst Vocal Suspects.

Emerson College will kick off the event with performances from its four award–winning student a cappella groups: Acappellics Anonymous, Achoired Taste, Noteworthy, and Treble Makers. The Jewel Tones, a high school group from Marblehead, Massachusetts, will also perform. After Boston’s long cold winter, the theme for this year’s event is “Here Comes the Sun.”

Acappellics Anonymous recently advanced in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) quarterfinals and will perform in the semifinals at Boston Symphony Hall.

At All A Cappella Live, audience members can cast their vote for the winner live at the event. All A Capella Live takes place Saturday, March 28, at 1:00 pm at the Cutler Majestic Theatre (219 Tremont Street, Boston). Tickets are $10–$30 and are on sale now at the Cutler Majestic Theatre box office or by calling 617-824-8000. For more information, visit www.wers.org.
