Shoo Iwasaki celebrates 80th birthday

Shoo Iwasaki, a devoted friend of Emerson and namesake of the College’s Iwasaki Library, recently celebrated his 80th birthday in Japan in a reception whose guest list included Emerson President Emerita Jacqueline Liebergott and her husband, Harvey Liebergott.

The celebration took place November 14 at the Okura Hotel in Tokyo.

Iwasaki, who received an honorary degree from Emerson, is an environmentalist and president of Green Cross Japan. Emerson’s library, in the Walker Building, was named after him following a gift in 2007.
