The Emerson Women’s Soccer team raised $3,715 for the Light the Night cancer research event and participated in an event walk on Boston Common on October 9.

Light the Night raises money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Assistant Coach Liz Corti, MA ’14, began the team’s involvement four years ago, when she was a player, after losing a close friend to blood cancer. Tayllar Righini ’14 was chosen to organize the team’s fundraising efforts this year.

The Women’s Soccer team has raised about $16,000 for Light the Night over the past four years, according to Emerson Athletics.

“I’m extremely proud of the team for the effort they put into this event,” said head coach David Suvak. “It’s been an amazing event to be a part of the last few years, and the athletes really showed heart in their support of it.”
