Seven Visual and Media Arts students will attend the famed Cannes Film Festival in France May 14–25 while a total of 10 student and alumni films will be shown at the festival’s Short Film Corner.
The Short Film Corner allows producers and directors to present their films and network. The festival’s website calls it “the essential rendez-vous for filmmakers.”
Many of the students attending Cannes are doing so through Creative Minds in Cannes, a program run by the Creative Mind Group that funds part of the trip and places film students in networking and educational opportunities while at the festival.
There are three Emerson films made by four students attending Cannes that will be screened at Short Film Corner. The names of the students and films are:
Pamela Mora ’16, Disorder
Chang Liu ’14, Paper Kite
Chen Xu ’14 and Yuhaojie Zheng ’14, Krasa
Three other students attending Cannes are Maxwell Kondziolka ’16, Ashley Juranich ’14, and Sara Yang ’16.
There are seven Emerson films made by eight students and recent graduates who will not be attending Cannes that will also be screened at Short Film Corner. The names of the films and their student and alumni creators are:
