Goldberg ’14, Russell ’14 named Athletes of Year
Jon Goldberg ’14 and Lacey Russell ’14 have been named Emerson Male and Female Student-Athletes of the Year by Emerson College Athletics.
Russell, a Women’s Tennis standout from Roswell, Georgia, was honored in 2010 as GNAC Rookie of the Year. After battling a back injury this year, Russell helped lead the Emerson Lions to an 8–3 standing in singles.
Goldberg, of Stowe, Vermont, helped lead the Men’s Basketball team to conference playoffs as the team’s co-captain this year, Emerson’s first in the NEWMAC conference. In December, the Lions beat No. 1–ranked Amherst College and broke the opposing team’s 27–game winning streak.
Goldberg was also inducted into the Gold Key Honor Society at Emerson on April 22.
