Duhamel ’84 wins Guggenheim Award

Denise Duhamel ’84 has won a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Award in the poetry category.

Duhamel’s most recent book of poetry, Blowout (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2013), was nominated for the National Book Critics Circle Award. Her other volumes include Ka-Ching! (Pittsburgh, 2009) and Two and Two (Pittsburgh, 2005), among several others.

A professor of English at Florida International University in Miami, Duhamel has also received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, Puffin Foundation, and Mary Flagler Cary Charitable Trust for Theater.
