Mathieu ’96, Knight jam for Live Music Week

WERS-FM morning host George Knight and WBZ-AM news anchor Joe Mathieu ’96, both of whom are accomplished guitarists, held a recording session in the WERS studios in the Ansin Building last week—all in preparation for WERS’s Live Music Week that runs April 5–13.

Live Music Week helps raise funding for the publicly supported radio station. This year, listeners who donate to the station have a chance to win tickets to the Iceland Airwaves Festival.

Helping out with Live Music Week is nothing new for Mathieu, who first played for it on WERS with his band shortly after he graduated from Emerson.

Knight has played in a band continuously since he was in high school.

The music that was recorded will be played during the George and Tori morning show, which is hosted by Knight and Victoria Bedford, during Live Music Week.
