Haines gets Ragdale summer residency
Lise Haines, senior writer-in-residence of the Writing, Literature and Publishing Department, has been awarded a summer residency at Ragdale, a nonprofit artists’ community outside of Chicago.
“Ragdale will provide an opportunity to work in my discipline in an uninterrupted way,” Haines said. “I look forward to seeing what the other artists in various disciplines are working on and spending time near Chicago, where I was raised.”
Ragdale annually hosts more than 150 artists, writers, choreographers, and composers at all stages of their careers for residencies between two and six weeks long, making it one of the largest interdisciplinary artist communities in the country.
“At Ragdale, we believe that time and space are not luxuries but necessary elements for creating important new work,” the organization says on its website.
