Torosian ’14 leads Lions against Rivier

Junior Shannon Torosian put up another huge day for the Emerson Softball Team, batting .625 with five hits, two runs scored, and six RBIs as the Lions swept the Rivier Raiders 7-0 and 5-2 to close out the regular season. With the wins the Lions clinch second in the GNAC while improving to 22-14 on the year and 19-5 in conference play.

Game one sent out junior Alicia Daniele for the Lions, where she was masterful, throwing the complete game shutout, allowing only three hits and striking out five. Both teams were quiet on offense until Emerson as Shannon Torosian put up an RBI single to short for a 1-0 lead.

The Lions are now set to face off in the GNAC Tournament. The team will host the Raiders on Wednesday, April 24, at 8:00 pm at Rotch Field in Boston.
