Softball Team gets conference sweep

Junior Shannon Torosian's .571 average on the day for four hits, three runs scored and two RBIs led the way as the Emerson Softball Team collected another conference sweep over the Suffolk Rams. The Lions topped the Rams 3-2 and 4-1 to move to 14-10 overall and 11-1 in GNAC action.

The Lions came out to a slow start with the Rams scoring first in game one. Junior Alicia Daniele—still hot off of her one-hitter against Lasell a day earlier—was on the mound and kept the Rams hitless until the fourth inning. With three singles and a walk, the Rams were the first on the board. The Lions did not wait long to answer back and Torosian made it on base from a fielding error to then be knocked in by Alex Magistro in the fourth.

The fifth inning was scoreless for the Rams but Lauren Jacaruso scored from a single from Torosian to put the Lions in the lead 2-1.
