Alumni auction halfway to goal

The 7th annual Alumni Association Scholarship Auction has raised more than $14,000 to support scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students. The auction, which ends Friday, November 30, is halfway to reaching its goal of $25,000.

Since the auction’s launch, several items have been added, including VIP tickets to Conan, a set visit to TLC's What Not To Wear, two tickets to a taping of the Rachael Ray Show, and VIP tickets to the live broadcast of ABC's Dancing with the Stars results show hosted by Emerson parent Tom Bergeron. Almost 100 items are on offer.

Kevin Bright ’76 donated an autographed Hirschfeld drawing of the Friends cast, and Denis Leary ’79 will record a personalized voicemail messageto the highest bidder.

“As the holidays approach, we hope the Emerson community remembers to support the Alumni Association Scholarship Auction,” said Interim Director of Alumni Relations Mary Ann Cicala ’99, MA ’09. “Our donors and alumni have generously contributed unique items that would make wonderful gifts; this is a great opportunity to do your holiday shopping and help Emerson at the same time,” she said.

Emersonians can bid at biddingforgood.com/emerson.

The 2013–2014 Alumni Association Scholarships will be dedicated to William H. White III ’69, a longtime Board member who died September 24, 2012.

The Alumni Association moved the auction from Alumni Weekend in June to November to take advantage of the holiday traffic on biddingforgood.com
