Alumna named senior VP at Sony Pictures Television

Lucia Cottone ’92 has been named senior vice president of development and current programming for networks at Sony Pictures Television.

In this newly created role, Cottone will work on global television development for Sony Pictures Television’s channel portfolio. She will also oversee current programming, managing a slate of hundreds of original hours for the company’s international channels, including AXN, SET, SPIN, Animax, and related sub-brands around the world.

Cottone spent five years developing drama and comedy series at Lifetime, most notably Army Wives,the network’s highest-rated scripted series of all time. Prior to Lifetime, Cottone honed her story skills at NBC Universal, Telemundo, UPN, and Rysher Entertainment. Her experience spans scripted drama, comedy, reality, game show, and telenovela genres. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication/Television at Emerson.
