Tom Marcello '67 has directed theater at Joseph Case High school for 35 years.

“[Marcello] is consistently putting on great shows,” Michael McGarty, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Guild told SouthcoastToday.com. He added that participation in drama is outstanding for a school the size of Case. The school’s productions consistently have “80, 90, 100 students involved. He has a huge following and is consistently excellent.”

The induction ceremony, which will honor 10 people, will take place at the Lyric Stage Company in Boston, beginning at 3:00 pm. The inductees make up the Guild’s first Hall of Fame members.

The Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild aims to promote and strengthen excellence, access, and education in the theatrical arts for middle and secondary school students and teachers. The organization was founded by a group of drama teachers in the 1930s.
