McElroy Gets Win #300

Emerson College softball coach Phil McElroy recently coached his 300th win in collegiate competition when the Lions defeated Emmanuel College 5-1 in the first game of a double header sweep. McElroy's milestone came just eleven days shy of three years from when he earned win number 200.

McElroy has earned 285 wins as head coach at Emerson. He also had 16 wins in a season as head coach of the Bentley University softball team. He currently has a .642 winning percentage at Emerson.

McElroy's teams have twice won Great Northeast Athletic Conference titles and advanced to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. In 2009 he was the GNAC Coach of the Year.
