High goals set for Live Music Week

WERS Live Music Week

“Live Music Week” celebrates the work of local music artists.

WERS 88.9 FM will hold its semiannual “Live Music Week” April 2–10. The event is both a celebration of the work of local artists and a fundraiser to keep WERS running smoothly. The station is aiming to raise $100,000 during the upcoming drive.

Notable local musicians and larger acts will be visiting the station for live, in-studio performances. Guests will include Mieka Pauley, Will Dailey and the Rivals, Jesse Dee, Lizanne Knott, and Group Love. WERS staff members will air these live events and promote fundraising and the benefits of becoming a member of the station throughout the week. This past semester’s Live Music Week exceeded its projected goal, and the station is setting equally high hopes for this drive.

In-studio performances during the week will be live streamed on the WERS homepage, from the four high-definition cameras now installed in the live mix studio.
