Janis Andersen, Dean of Emerson’s School of Communication, recently received a Distinguished Research Article Award from the National Communication Association (NCA).
Andersen accepted the award at the NCA’s 96th convention, “Building Bridges,” in San Francisco November 14–17. The annual convention highlighted research in a variety of communication fields and honors researchers who have established an international reputation in a particular area of study. Andersen’s research explores the concept of teacher approachability in the classroom.
“We are all very proud of Dean Andersen, not just for the work that garnered this award, but also for the leadership that she brings to our School of Communication.”
Emerson’s Vice President for Academic Affairs Linda Moore said about Andersen’s achievements: “Jan is known throughout the communication discipline as a hard-working, energetic leader who brings intelligence and care to all of her endeavors.”
