Teach-In on Race: Considering Identity in Effective Course Cultivation

February 8 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm EST

Come meet some of our student leaders as they talk with faculty about their racialized experiences in the classroom. As Gloria Ladson-Billings (1998) wrote, “If we are serious about solving these problems in schools and classrooms, we have to be serious about intense study and careful rethinking of race and education.”

Attendees will take part in a facilitated experience to place them in dialogue and solidarity around what equity in learning looks, feels, and sounds like in higher education. Join the Deans’ Fellows for Racial Equity & Leadership Development as we consider the positive impacts on student learning when social identities, like race, gender, and class are considered in the development of or reimagining of course content.
