Jacked January Week 2: Ace of the Diamond

Join Anime@Emerson in the Cultural Center on Friday, January 26th for our second screening of Jacked January! Our screening for the week is Ace of the Diamond, which will be followed by a group discussion.
Ace of the Diamond follows Eijun Sawamura, a pitcher who joins an elite school with a brilliant catcher named Kazuya Miyuki. Together with the rest of the team, they strive for Japan’s storied Koushien championships through hard work and determination. On his journey, he meets rivals, friends and learns more “about all this determination and desire to improve.”
ABOUT US:
Anime@Emerson is Emerson’s only anime club! We meet every Friday in the Cultural Center at 8 pm to watch the first three episodes of whatever anime we are screening for the week. These screenings are followed by discussion questions, which we all take the time to consider. We carefully choose each of our weekly screenings according to a monthly theme. For example, this month’s theme is Jacked January so we are watching sports animes for the month of January!
Do you want a DISCOUNTED ticket to Boston’s LARGEST ANIME CONVENTION?
Beginning this week, Anime@Emerson will officially start fundraising for Anime Boston, which is taking place at Hynes Convention Center this March 29th to the 31st. In simple terms, Anime Boston is a three-day anime convention held annually in Boston, Massachusetts that celebrates and promotes Japanese animation, comics, and pop culture. Anime@Emerson sells their merchandise to students with the intention of raising money to buy tickets so that students may attend Anime Boston in a large group. At the convention, students will be able to attend panels and events such as gameshows, cosplay competitions, and even concerts.
Anime@Emerson is offering a special opportunity to all students interested in attending Anime Boston. Students that spend at least $20 on Anime@Emerson merch will receive a three-day pass to Anime Boston. For reference, a regular three-day pass costs $105 — that’s an $85 difference! We will be selling our merch around 9:30 pm every Friday in the Cultural Center after our weekly screenings (8 to 9:30 pm) are finished. Please note that this opportunity will last only as long as our fundraising period, which ends on Friday, February 16.
We will be fundraising on the following dates:
• Friday, January 26 from 9:30 pm to 10:30 pm
• Friday, February 2 from 9:30 pm to 10:30 pm
• Friday, February 9 from 9:30 pm to 10:30 pm
• Friday, February 16 from 9:30 pm to 10:30 pm
