Vogel releases book on creative thinking

Vogel Thomas Vogel, associate professor in Marketing Communication and director of the Global Marketing Communication and Advertising graduate program, recently released a new book, Breakthrough Thinking: A Guide to Creative Thinking and Idea Generation (HOW Books), which features case studies with some of his former Emerson students.

A description of the book reads: “The digital age spurs many companies to hire creative types who will come up with ideas to stand out against the competition. But creativity is often viewed as a character trait rather than a skill to be mastered.”

Visit the Breakthrough Thinking website to learn more about the book.

Former Emerson students featured as case studies in the book are Brenna McCormick, MA ’06, who is also a part-time faculty member at Emerson and works at Mediaman in Boston; Noreen Arora, MA ’10, of IDEO in Boston; Christiane Schaefer, MA ’12, of Volkswagen Group China; Eric Rosati ’14, a freelance graphic designer in New York; and Amanda Mooney ’08 of Edelman Shanghai City.
