Learn from members of EcoTok, a collective of young environmental educators and activists who got together in Summer 2020 with the shared objective of using TikTok as a platform to save the planet. Since then, EcoTok has earned hundreds of millions of views, millions of likes, and more than 100,000 followers.
In this conversation moderated by Associate Professor Nejem Raheem, environmentalist and digital activist Kristy Drutman (@browngirlgreen) and environmental educator and content creator Isaias Hernandez (@queerbrownvegan) will show how EcoTok’s techniques translate complex subjects into accessible, meaningful, and actionable communication. To underscore the importance of EcoTok’s work from an educational perspective, we will be joined by Dr. Wendy Purcell of Harvard’s Chan School of Public Health, an expert in how leadership, governance, and higher education all contribute to the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals.
