Who Is Danny Turkiewicz ’16 and Why Does He Want to Steal ‘Pulp Fiction’?
Danny Turkiewicz ’16 never tried to steal Quentin Tarantino’s personal print of Pulp Fiction – but instead made a movie about three friends trying to steal it.
You can hear about how Turkiewicz turned an esoteric fantasy into a motion picture after the film is screened on October 23. The post-screening discussion with Turkiewicz will be moderated by School of Film, Television, and Media Arts Assistant Professor Owen Egerton.
Along with Turkiewicz writing/producing/directing the film, other Emersonians were involved in the production: actress Cazzie David ’16; executive producer Carly Kaplan ’16, actor and associate producer Matt Adams ’16, actor Alex Morand ’16, and co-producer Elise Kalani ’16.
And yes, it’s centered on an attempted heist, but it’s about so much more.
“It’s about ambition, love, and the delusion of thinking you want to do something, and what’s really important is often in front of you,” Turkiewicz told Emerson Today in June 2025. “There’s a lot more layers to it than the hook of the movie’s title.”
This is a free, unticketed event that is open to the public and will be held starting at 7 pm at the Bright Family Screening Room at the Paramount Center.
