Sarabi Named to WBUR’s 2025 Maker List
School of Film, Television, and Media Arts Director of Production Safety and Sustainability Homa Sarabi is featured among area artists of color who incorporate the environment into their artistry.

Harabi, a filmmaker born in Iran, blends concepts of time, place, home, and memory into her films, such as Tan/Vatan, or Body/Homeland in English, and Home is Where the Fig Trees Grow.
Her current film project centers on Crystal Lake in Newton, which advocates are working to keep as a public lake.
“At the core of it is this desire to connect with nature and finding yourself as part of nature, as part of this world,” she said of her environmentally focused work.
