VMA Program Earns Accreditation from Film Equipment Leader ARRI

Emerson College became the first film program in New England and just the second in the U.S. to earn Certified Film School accreditation from ARRI, a global leader in the development of film equipment and technologies.

ARRI accreditation is awarded to schools that equip students with advanced skills in digital cinematography and production, and prepares them to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving media industry. Emerson’s Visual and Media Arts program exceeded ARRI’s standards through its comprehensive curriculum, state-of-the-art facilities, and experienced faculty.

“This accreditation is a landmark achievement for Emerson and our Visual and Media Arts program,” said VMA Chair Shaun Clarke. “It not only reflects our commitment to providing our students with professional resources, but also affirms our position as a leader in preparing future filmmakers and media creators.”

As part of this new partnership, Emerson students will gain exclusive access to ARRI’s cutting-edge equipment, technology, and professional development resources, and will graduate with highly marketable, industry-recognized credentials, positioning them for success in a competitive field.

“We are extremely proud to usher Emerson College into the ARRI Certified Film School program,” said VMA affiliated faculty member and ACFS Project Administrator David Reeder. “Through our ability to award students with this highly regarded professional credential, Emerson’s VMA department has demonstrated a commitment to cinematic excellence and technical expertise that will help empower the next generation of filmmakers.”
