Olayiwola on Poetry, Search for Boston’s New Poet Laureate: WCVB’s CityLine
Writing, Literature, & Publishing assistant professor Porsha Olayiwola MFA ’22 was a recent guest on CityLine, discussing Boston’s search for a new Poet Laureate and the qualities they seek in a new artist. Olayiwola has served as the City of Boston’s Poet Laureate since 2019.
Olayiwola, whose written work includes concepts of place, history, the Black diaspora, and Boston, also spoke about her new bookstore opening in Dorchester, and a collection of poems, Wet, to be published in 2026.
