Leadership Team Update: Student Affairs

Dear Emerson community,

I am writing to share news about a change to Emerson’s administration. 

After eight years of leadership at Emerson College, Jim Hoppe, Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean for Campus Life, has been selected as the Senior Vice President and Dean for Student Affairs at Bowdoin College in Maine. Jim will depart Emerson in mid-July, and we will soon announce plans for interim leadership and our search for permanent leadership.

Since his arrival in June 2016, Jim has been a valued and impactful member of the College’s leadership team. I am grateful for his dedication to and advocacy for our students while working together as a community. While we will greatly miss Jim’s warm presence across campus, we are delighted for him as he begins the next chapter in his accomplished career.

Please join me in thanking Jim for his exceptional work at Emerson and congratulating him on his new and exciting opportunity at Bowdoin.
