Emerson UnCommon Stage Returns to Boston Common on May 10
The Emerson UnCommon Stage on Boston Common will be back for a second season in early May, bringing free, daily entertainment to the corner of Tremont and Boylston streets with a new partner supplying refreshments.
This year, Harpoon Brewery will team up with Emerson and the City of Boston at the outdoor garden-style venue, and offer a variety of craft beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) for purchase. “Street food” also will be available.
The stage and garden will be open daily, weather permitting, from noon to 9:00 pm, through October, with the possibility of extended weekend hours.
Among the performances scheduled for the opening week are Toki Wright, Zahili Zamora, Sheryl Bailey and Tim Miller, Daniel Sturgis, Proyecto Blue Island, Fabiola Mendez, and the Femmes. For more information visit the UnCommon Stage website.
Emerson is working with a variety of Community Curators, including BAMS Fest, Ágora Cultural Architects, Departure Arts, Jazz Urbane, HipStory, and Maria Hendricks, to curate the season with free, dynamic, public programming.
The UnCommon Stage will draw Bostonians and visitors to experience music, pop-up Salsa Nights, WERS 88.9 broadcasts, spoken word, an interactive Day of Play, children’s programs, comedy, and more. The focus will be on entertainment made by and for, Bostonians that reflects the full cultural spectrum of the city and highlights Boston’s incredible homegrown arts community.
