Gerzof Richard Named Honorary Consul of Iceland to Boston
David Gerzof Richard, senior affiliated faculty member in Communication Studies, was named Honorary Consul of Iceland to Boston, an appointment that highlights Richard’s role in promoting cultural exchange within Greater Boston.
As Honorary Consul, Richard will serve as a liaison between the Icelandic government and Greater Boston, promoting economic opportunities, facilitating consular services, and strengthening ties between Iceland and Boston.
“I am deeply honored to have been appointed as the Honorary Consul of Iceland to Boston,” Richard said. “I am grateful for the support of Emerson College, and look forward to furthering the strong relationship between Iceland and the Boston community.”
Richard’s public relations agency, BIG FISH PR, represented Iceland in North America for over a decade, and is the agency of record for an Icelandic airline.
Richard was nominated for the position by Hlynur Gudjonsson, Icelandic Ambassador to Canada. His appointment underscores Emerson’s commitment to global citizenship and engagement, as well as its dedication to preparing students to become thoughtful leaders in an interconnected world.
