Sharing Sad News
Dear Emerson community,
The College is profoundly saddened to share the news of the tragic passing on October 12 of Faizan Siddiqui, a respected staff member in the Information Technology team since June. We extend our deepest condolences to Faizan’s family, friends, colleagues, and others who mourn his loss.
Faizan first joined Emerson In January as a contractor, and since June he worked full-time as a Data Visualization Specialist. His team described him as smart, energetic, and ambitious. According to Brian Basgen, Chief Information Officer, “Faizan was a bright light within the division and we were enriched by his presence.”
The news of Faizan’s sudden and unexpected passing is shocking, especially to those who worked most closely with him. The College’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides a 24/7 voluntary, confidential counseling service staffed by trained professionals who provide initial assessment, referrals, and short-term counseling. Covered employees and eligible family members may have up to three consultations per year. Staff should call 1-800-624-5544 to schedule a counseling appointment.
We will share additional updates about services and remembrances when they become available. Please join me in keeping Faizan and his loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Jay M. Bernhardt
President
