Women’s Soccer Celebrates LGBTQI+ Equality Through Fundraiser: CBS WBZ

The Emerson College women’s soccer team is in the midst of a fundraiser for a nonprofit that strives for LGBTQ+ equality, reports WBZ.

Athlete Ally’s mission is to end homophobia and transphobia in sports and engage the athletic community to have their leadership champion LGBTQI+ equality.

The team has been selling t-shirts with sales that go directly to Athlete Ally. There will also be a pride game against Wellesley College on October 18.

It was originally us wanting to do a game, where we raise money for some sort of cause. We brought the team together and it was, ‘What cause do we want to do this for?’
