Update on Vice President for Institutional Advancement Search

Dear members of the Emerson community,

I am writing to update you on the search for the next Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

President Designate Dr. Jay Bernhardt has assembled a search committee and secured a partnership with Lindauer Executive Search Firm to launch a national search to identify the candidate who will best position the College to advance its mission, deepen its connections to alumni, and build a culture of philanthropy.

The search committee will be co-chaired by Robert Miller, Secretary of the Board of Trustees, and Anne Shaughnessy, Vice President and Chief of Staff, Office of the President.

Other committee members include:

  •        Nanci Isaacs ’79, President, Alumni Board of Directors
  •        Brooke Knight, Assistant Provost, Faculty Affairs
  •        Michael MacWade M’84, Trustee
  •        Brent Smith, Dean, School of Communication
  •        Amy Tamburino, Senior Associate Vice President, Institutional Advancement
  •        Joshua Wachs ’87, Chair, Board of Advisors
  •        Shannon Worthington, Senior Development Officer, Office of the Arts

The committee plans to work throughout the summer, with the goal of welcoming a new vice president before the start of the Fall Term. I am grateful to David Howse, Vice President for the Office of the Arts and Institutional Advancement, for continuing his outstanding service in the role.

We will keep you informed of significant updates as the search process moves forward. To share comments on the search or provide candidate nominations, please contact Faith Montgomery, Vice President & Managing Director, Lindauer at fmontgomery@lindauerglobal.com.

Sincerely,

William Gilligan,
Interim President
