Hawkins on Black Communities, Police Brutality, and Coping with Trauma: The Conversation

Communications Studies assistant professor Deion Hawkins shares with the academic news site The Conversation his research on the mental health effects of police brutality within Black communities, finding three trauma triggers – intense sadness, hypervigilance and sense of helplessness.
