COVID Update: October 2022

Hello Emerson Community,

As we complete the first month of the fall semester of 2022, we want to thank everyone who has worked to keep the community safe. This fall marks another transition in COVID-19 policies and protocols, as the College continues to evolve in its response to and management of the pandemic. Communications this fall have been primarily directed to students, coming from Health Services and sometimes the Dean of Campus Life email. We’ve received feedback for the continued use of the COVID19@emerson.edu email, however, and we will return to sending updates and information via this source.

Please note that the One Emerson page remains the most up-to-date source of information not only for COVID-19 policies and protocols, but also for monkeypox and other public health topics.

To update you, during the month of September, Health Services staff received 176 positive COVID-19 self-reports. Also during this time, Health Services staff have maintained regular communication with our partners at Tufts Medical Center, and with the Boston Public Health Department, which has reviewed our campus data. Our partners assure us that the COVID trends at Emerson College are similar to other campuses around the city, and to date, they have not identified any unexpected or problematic patterns related to COVID-19.

We would like to remind you that self-reporting is key to helping our Health Services staff properly advise the college community by identifying potential patterns and providing outreach to COVID positive students directly.

The One Emerson page has directions and information regarding self-reporting.
That page includes these links, among others:

Vaccination & Boosters

Testing

Contact Tracing/Quarantine/Isolation

Symptom Management

Please keep an eye open for periodic updates and reminders from the COVID19@emerson.edu address and continue to visit the One Emerson website for up-to-date information. In addition, you should feel free to address any questions to either healthservices@emersone.edu or COVID19@emerson.edu as well.

Stay Well,
Christina Paris
