In other sustainability news, Emerson achieved AASHE STARS Gold status, for the second time in a row (Emerson’s last rating was in 2018). The STARS score is based on reporting about sustainability across the entire institution, including everything from the College’s emissions and waste to how new employees are trained in regards to sustainability and how sustainability is incorporated into curriculum.

“The AASHE STARS Gold rating is a testament to the fantastic work happening all across the College on sustainability,” said Jennifer Lamy, campus sustainability manager. “Our STARS score is based not only our progress reducing greenhouse gas emissions but also on work engage students, faculty, and staff about these issues, how our curriculum covers sustainability, food served on campus, what the College purchases, and much more.”
