Montgomery-Hyde Named Interim HR Chief

Dear members of the Emerson community,

I am pleased to announce that Jamie Montgomery-Hyde, AVP for Human Resources Operations, will assume the interim role of Chief Human Resources Officer, effective Monday, March 7th.  Jamie takes over management of the HR department from Shari Stier, who departs Emerson later this week after nearly five very successful years leading the department.

Since joining Emerson in 2019, Jamie has been instrumental in leading several new initiatives implemented by HR, focusing on many of the core issues of the department and improving the operations and effectiveness of our HR function.  Among Jamie’s accomplishments have been the implementation and oversight for on-boarding and supporting our out-of-state HR and payroll operations, oversight of HR related questions and support for COVID-19 testing and vaccination data collection campus-wide, and implementation of changes within the HRIS, HR Service Center, and Compensation and Benefits areas.

Jamie also spearheaded the College’s Workday enhancements efforts across Human Resources and has managed the HR Service Center and HR’s Zendesk system. For the past six years Jamie has also been an adjunct faculty member at Suffolk University teaching Human Resources Management through the Moakley Center for Public Management.

Prior to joining Emerson, Jamie was a regional Vice President for Human Resources at Steward Health Care, supporting a 13,000 – plus workforce.  Prior to that, Jamie spent close to three years as the Vice President of Administration and Operations at Walker Therapeutic & Educational Programs, and more than 13 years in Massachusetts State Government in various HR leadership positions within the Executive Office of Health and Human Services, leading numerous HR teams in providing important services to constituents state-wide.

Please join me in congratulating Jamie on his new role as we thank Shari for her valuable service and many contributions to Emerson’s HR department and our community.

Sincerely,
Paul Dworkis
Vice President for Administration and Finance & CFO
