COVID Update: Testing Center Hours and Scheduling

Dear members of the Emerson community:

To help accommodate as many people as possible in our testing protocol this month, Tufts Medical Center at 116 Harrison Avenue (entrance on Kneeland Street) will be open for PCR testing for Emerson students, faculty, staff, and vendors each Saturday for the month of January ONLY on the following dates: January 15, 22, and 29, from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. No appointment will be necessary. Please note, this is a temporary arrangement and you should not factor Saturday testing into your regular testing schedule after January 29.

Also please be aware that the test center will be CLOSED every SUNDAY in January, as well as this upcoming MONDAY, January 17, in observance of the MLK Jr. Holiday. Please plan your weekly testing accordingly. Remember, all members of the community must have two negative PCR tests taken at Emerson’s TMC test center (3-5 days apart) prior to returning to in-person learning on Tuesday, January 18.

Additionally as a reminder, there is currently a system-wide delay in test results being reported to the College. Community members should expect results between 24-48 hours after their test day.

Community members should expect to be required to test twice weekly until notified otherwise and at least through the end of January. All members of the community are asked to select their testing cohorts by visiting the Testing Appointment Scheduler by January 14.

Thank you ,
Erik Muurisepp
